Throughout the last few days, there have been countless references from many different countries to being united with France.  This morning, the news claimed that the world now is united behind the idea that we must eliminate ISIL(S).  Is it only me, or is it strange that what tends to bring us together, worldwide, or country wide, is a threat to our security and well being.  In other words, it seems to take physical, harm for us to come together.  We Christians have a reason to be united across borders and oceans and denominations , gender, age, or anything else.  God sent Jesus to bring us ALL into the fold of faith.  We, on the other hand, seem to find the things that are different about us and dwell on them and not on Christ as Savior of the world.  Perhaps the events in Paris have given us a reason to put aside differences to face a common enemy.  We Christians face a common enemy in sin.  Jesus has given us a way out, a way to defeat sin and be forgiven.  Somehow, we need to face the world with a common front: Jesus is the light, the truth, the way.  All else pales in this light.  See the people around you as God’s children and love them.  Read Matthew 17:1-8 and remember: God loves YOU unconditionally.
