I am really not a sheep… am I? Sheep need direction every day. Their well being depends on the shepherd to keep them at the right place for grazing or for water or for shelter and to keep them protected from all danger. But I am not a sheep… am I? As I look back on my life, I see many, many, many times when I was not sure of the direction I was going or should be going. And then there were the times when I knew the right direction and inexplicably, took the wrong turn. And then the times when I was lost and needed to be saved from outside danger or from myself. The times when I needed refreshment and rest and Jesus was the one I turned to. Day after day I needed someone to be my Shepherd. Thanks be to God for Jesus the Great Shepherd who through no power of my own is My Shepherd. Today will be a good one for I know that my Redeemer lives, my guide, my protector, my shelter… My Shepherd. Read Psalm 23 and remember: God loves YOU unconditionally.
