Advent

Have you noticed that we are often in the waiting mode?  We are now in advent, a season that makes anticipation for Christmas the predominant feeling.  The people of Israel waited for hundreds of years for the Messiah and many missed him when he came.  It seemed that they were in waiting mode and had forgotten how to live any other way.  Jesus wants us to live in the NOW also.  That makes us Christians the people of the “already and the not yet” all at the same time.  We are waiting for Christmas this year and yet we know that Christ has already come.  We wait for the kingdom of God, yet knowing that it has already come.  We wait for the reign of God, always knowing  that the reign of God has begun.  Anticipate Christmas.  Do not not skip ahead to Christmas but know that Christ is already born in the hearts of you, his people.  Happy Advent… waiting!  Read Galatians 4:4-7 and remember: God loves YOU unconditionally.
