Scientists are studying a thing called “dark matter” these days. I have read a little about dark matter and do not understand much of it at all. I do know that there are times in our lives when the dark seems to take over: we seem alone and insignificant. It could be physical or emotional or financial or spiritual in nature. All of these dark times have meaning for us. I find, for myself, that the dark in my life often comes with opportunity to fully rely on God. Often in these times, I have no say in how things will turn out and I must leave all things in the hand of God. It is in the dark of life that one often yearns most of the light of God and I learn to put my trust in God alone. In the end, it is God alone who saves. The dark in our lives matters if only to point us to the only salvation we have, the only true light… Jesus himself. Jesus is the light of the world for us all. Read John 1:1-14 and remember: God loves YOU unconditionally.
