Angels

I was always an shepherd in the live nativity play at my church as I grew up.  I got to wear a bathrobe, usually brown with a head covering and could not wear my glasses for shepherds in Jesus’ day did not have glasses.  Even though this was only a play and I took part in it for 3 or more years, it felt like the angels were talking to me, a lowly shepherd.  I still feel this way at Christmas.  God has some thing grand to say today to me, and you and all the other shepherds out there doing there daily stuff and sometimes wondering if God is really there.  Christmas is a time to tell them/us that God loves creation so much that God became a human being just for the people of the earth. This Good News was announced and God was praised in from the shepherds.  Emmanuel is born!  God with us!  Great, joyous news to all who struggle in darkness.  This Christmas, thank the angels that God has sent to bring YOU this wonderful news.  Read Luke 2:8-15 and remember: God loves YOU unconditionally.
