Go

There are common themes throughout all of Scripture: love, forgiveness, God’s grace, God’s providence.  Another, one that we often forget, is the idea of sending.  God always tells the people who believe to “GO!”  God into the world and tell the Good News.  The  Holy Family went to Bethlehem  because of a  tax decree but escaped to Egypt at God’s command.  They also went back to Nazareth at God’s command.  The wise men came to Jesus because of the prophecy about the Messiah and went home at an angel’s urging.  God, throughout history is telling us to “GO!”  God says we are to be witnesses to the wonder of God’s love in our lives at Christmas and always.  A new year is coming, a calendar change but the charge for God’s elect is always the same: “GO!” and tell on the mountain, on the plain, wherever you may be.  Read Acts 1:1-11 and remember: God loves YOU unconditionally.
