Judging Others

We all know that Jesus told us not to judge others and yet we do it all the time.  When I was taking part in Clinical Pastoral Education, I worked with a Methodist pastor as well as 8 other chaplains and interns.  Our topic of conversation came back to our leader more than one time.  He was: harsh, uncaring, sloppy (always with an undone tie), etc. etc.  We did not know him well and did not bother to ask why he did what he did and dressed as he did.  He was a task master but, I certainly learned a lot from him and would have probably just floated through the 3 months without his pressure to learn.  His undone tie was because of a neck injury from an auto accident.  We had judged him for all kinds of reasons and we were wrong.  Even if we had been right, we had no right to judge for Jesus is the only judge.  God loves all the people of creation and died for each one.  We need to act toward them as they are: loved by God.  Read Luke 6:37-42 and remember: God loves YOU unconditionally.
