New Year’s Eve (Sort of)

Tonight is the last worship service for us before the new year comes.  Often we mark things like this with something special: music, message, offering, etc. etc.  After all, we are going to have dinner and a movie to mark the year end and the new beginning.  Perhaps it is better not to do so with worship.  God, like time, continues on the same next year as God has been this year.  For us there is continuity always, no matter what the season nor the weather, nor the year.  God is the one constant that follows us from moment to moment, day to day, year to year.  God is always there.  Jesus said that He would be with us always even to the end of the age.  Always: a comforting, joyful word.  Tonight will not be the Last worship of 2015, nor Sunday the first of 2016 but both will be an opportunity for us to give God praise and glory and to snuggle in the arms of our creator.  Beginning and end.  Read Revelation 22:12-21 and remember: God loves YOU unconditionally.
