As I was growing up, there was Sunday morning, the only day for worship, or Saturday which some people used but it was not considered the “Lord’s Day.” Now, some 50-60+ years later, worship happens whenever there is a need in the community. In my last parish, there were nurses who asked for a Saturday worship service because they often worked Sunday morning. The request was accommodated. Here at JOY, we began a more contemporary worship on Wednesday evenings to , perhaps, bring some younger people to worship at JOY. What ever the reasons, it is good to worship…. anytime. God has blessed this worship time with great fellowship, fun music, Word from God in Scripture and preaching, and, perhaps most important for me, the feeling of God;s presence among us. It is a little more free form than Sunday, and smaller in number but, just like Sunday, God is present and we give God thanks and praise for that wonderful presence in our lives. We thank God doff the Trinity. Tonight is my last one. I am saddened by this but know that God is preparing the Wednesday night crowd and the preacher for great times in worship. I am gladdened by that. Come and take the opportunity to worship whenever you can. Talk to God and God will respond. Read Acts 2:42-47 and remember: God loves YOU unconditionally.
