Be There!

James Dobson and his wife have a phrase they use with all of their family members: “Be There!” The phrase means that no matter who dies first, they will all be together in Heaven again as long as they are all faithful. So, “Be There!” is a reminder to everyone in their family to live faithfully and be there , together in heaven with their Savior.

Jesus reminds us that we don’t have to wait until we are dead to “Be There!” In fact, we can be here and be there at the same time! The abundant life Jesus made available is available now to all who believe (or who ask forgiveness for their unbelief). As we ponder Lent, remember, when Jesus came to earth He brought the Kingdom (Mark 1:15, Matthew 4:17).

As we move into Holy Week, we are reminded that even at that dark and ultimately glorious time in the midst of Jesus’ death, the Temple curtain (the curtain which separated the dwelling place of God from our dwelling place) was torn. The Greek verb used here means torn in a way which can never be repaired. Through Jesus’ life, death and resurrection, and through the Spirit in and with us – we can Be Here! Be Now! Be Loved! Be Loving! Be God’s! and Be There!, too.

Read Matthew 27: 50-54, and remember: God loves You UNCONDITIONALLY!
