What Is Your Story?

What is your story? “This is my story …”

Brother Jerry let me know about a great contemporary Christian song at a recent Lenten Soup Supper. Reflecting back on Easter, it has taken on even more meaning. “My Story” by Big Daddy Weave ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1TKAN-nAsu8 ) combines new music with the chorus of a bedrock hymn, “Blessed Assurance.” The singer’s story contains “hope that wouldn’t let go”, “love that never gave up” and “Life, but it wasn’t mine…” He says his story reflects “grace that is greater than all” his sin. Due to the “kindness of Jesus” even though “justice was served,” “mercy wins.”

All this, because, the story of the singer’s life is a story about Jesus. “This is my story; this is my song. Praising my savior all the day long.”

Jesus calls us to make His Story, our Story (my story, your story). Is that what making disciples means – helping someone make Jesus’ story their story? What kind of life do we have when Jesus’ story is ours? I want Jesus’ story to be my story!

Read Romans 6: 1-14, and remember: God love YOU unconditionally!
