I Will Never Leave You

When I was a child, I had a terrible of  fear of our vehicle getting stuck.  Rural roads at that time were gravel or dirt, so mud and snowdrifts were a way of life.  If our wheels started spinning, I covered up my head (it helped).  When I was eight I began riding a school bus to school.  Our route was mostly graveled roads but in a couple spots we crossed a small stream with no bridge.  You can imagine where my mind went.  When I got home in the evenings, I cried about my fears of getting stuck and unable to get home safely.  My mother assured me if the bus got stuck Daddy would come and get me.  ( I never questioned how Dad would get through the roads in a car if the bus couldn’t get through.)  But I was reassured that my Daddy would come for me.

Fast forward seventy years.  When I get bogged down or stuck in the mudholes and snowdrifts of life, I am still assured that my Daddy (my heavenly Father) will come for me and help me back to solid ground.

In Joshua 1:5 God reassures us, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”  And in Ps. 50:15 He invites us, “Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you and you will honor me.”  As my father cared for that little girl, my heavenly Father still cares for this grandmother–a life of caring.  Remember: God loves YOU unconditionally.
