Do You Resemble God?

Genesis 1:27 says God created humankind in God’s own image, but reflecting the image of God in this fallen world is a process.  II Corinthians 3:18 says, “ And all of us, with unveiled faces, seeing the glory of the Lord as though reflected in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another; for this comes from the Lord, the Spirit.” (NRSV)  It says that we are being transformed to look more like God. We don’t come out already looking like God. We are not yet perfect, but God continues working in our hearts and in our lives to reflect God.  Every time we choose to yield to God’s will, every time we choose to act in love, every time we make the decision to treat another person with love and equality and respect, we follow in Jesus’ footsteps and become a better reflection of God.  Let us work to strengthen our character and relationship to God and others through prayer, study in God’s Word, and actively loving.

Read 2 Corinthians 3, and remember: God loves YOU unconditionally!
