Did you miss the blog this morning? I did! I took Caroline to school, came home and asked Annie what had happened to the blog. She was looked up from her iPad mini and said, “It didn’t post this morning and 19 people have already looked for it. What day is today, Tuesday?” And then it struck me – Tuesday – that’s my blog day. There wasn’t a blog this morning because I hadn’t written one. As Woody Allen once said, “99% of life is just showing up.” Sorry I didn’t show up this morning (or even better yesterday or last week to prepare for this morning).
Who always shows up? Not me. In my life, there was only every one person who always showed up – God. Sometimes I didn’t see God, sometimes I even felt deserted by God, that God had left me and was nowhere to be found. But every time, when I turned around, God was right there – waiting for me, loving me, comforting me. In Hebrews we are reminded of God’s message to us, ““I will never leave you or forsake you.” I have found that you and I can count on that.
But what about the blog; will I faithfully remember to write that and get it in ahead of time? My advice: Trust in the Lord and give Mike a reminder. If you missed the blog this morning, I apologize. If you didn’t miss the blog, I am sorry about that too. 🙂 We continue on in the corruptible waiting to put on the incorruptible. In the meantime, I’ll trust in the Lord and try to do a better job remembering what day it is!
Read Hebrews 13: 1-6 (link to the Bible verse below) and remember, God loves you UNCONDITIONALLY! (even when you forget to write the blog …)
Mike
