PRICELESS GIFTS . . .

I remember watching our children on Christmas mornings. Their excitement was intense; their eyes were aglow. The few gifts we had chosen might not have been costly, but they were priceless and treasured.
I was thinking of those precious moments when I read this verse from Luke, “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” How blessed we are to receive gifts from an all-knowing, all-powerful, devoted and benevolent Parent.

But what does it really mean to receive the Holy Spirit? Just as our almighty Father is beyond our comprehension; so is the wondrous nature of the Holy Spirit. But our Heavenly Father tells us He is ready and willing to fill us with His Spirit. There are gifts of wisdom, knowledge, faith, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness and more. Lord, choose what is best for us!

Read 1 Corinthians 12:4-11, and remember why your dear Father offers all of this – because He loves you! He loved you when you were a child, He loves now that you are older, He loves you every day – UNCONDITIONALLY.
