A little boy’s mother abandoned him. He never met his father. He has no place to call home. No family to take him in. 

A teenager sits in a crowded lunchroom but no one speaks to her.  No one looks her way.  All her classmates are taking excitedly about meeting after school, but she is not invited.  

A young man moves to a new city for a new job.  He doesn’t know many people there yet so he sits home alone and drinks a beer as it turns midnight.  No one gave him a gift or card.  No one even knows it’s his birthday

A man gives a concert to thousands of people but goes home to no one.  There’s no one there to share his success with.

A 40 year old woman is spending her first night alone after 20 years of marriage.  Her husband left after telling her he wants a divorce.  Their children are grown and on their own.

A woman falls down the stairs and cannot get up.  She hollers out for help, but no one is there to hear her.  She doesn’t know how long she’ll have to wait.

A 78 year old man sits in a chair and tells the story of his 54 year-long marriage.  His wife passed away only a week ago.

A 96 year old woman lays on the hospice bed, taking her last breath.  She has no friends or family in the room with her.  

But there is One who never leaves their side.  There is one who sees each page of their life and holds them in the darkest moments and sings over them with joy at other times (Zeph 3:17).  There is One who loves them each with unfailing love (Jer. 31:3) and who will never abandon them (Heb 13:5).  Not one is alone.  Each one is loved.  We are all God’s beloved.  

Read  Deuteronomy 31:6 and “Footprints in the Sand” and remember: God loves YOU unconditionally!
