Here I go with my acronyms and memory devices again!
The title is a good motto for relating to people. It works in management settings, personal settings, coaching, and group dynamics. The order is definitely intentional. As servants of the Master, we ought first to love the person. Since our Masterful Creator gave us two auditory parts and one oral part, it naturally follows that paying attention while the other is speaking is quite important. We can stand to learn from anyone, anytime. Isn’t a day richer when we pick up useful information from another? Lastly, anyone can become a leader. Notice I said become. Andrew, Peter, Philip and the other nine original disciples completed the initial three-year course of instruction using the “4-L” model.
What a JOYous gift to be given the keys to effectively relate to each other! What a blessing that today we honor a great man who loved, listened to, learned from, and led his brothers and sisters in Christ in a movement that gave hope and changed our history. Eternal rest be yours, The Rev. Dr. King, Jr. And always remember that God loves you unconditionally!
