What do we really have?

As I prepare for a trip to Atlanta to celebrate Easter with my three daughters and their families and grandchidren, I, of course, have many memories and thoughts going through my head. Most of them are great, some a little tough, and many downright funny. I ran across this prayer, one of my favorites, that was introduced to me during my Stephen Ministry Leadership Training, some years ago. I’d like to share it with you.

Prayer of a Soldier of Christ

Take Lord and receive all my liberty,

my memory, my understanding and

my entire will. All that I possess you

have given me. To you, O Lord, I

return it. All is yours, dispose of it

wholly according to your will. Give

me your love and your grace, for this

is sufficient for me.
-Ignatius Loyola

During Holy Week, we are reminded that all we have is because of God.  God gives us His all and we, like Ignatius Loyola, find that God’s love and grace is enough. Read 2 Corinthians 12:9, and remember: God loves YOU unconditionally!
