Born in the U.S.A! Wow!  Three meals a day plus, perhaps an immense understatement. American and Christian, don’t we have an obligation to be more concerned than most of God’s creation about how the worlds resources are distributed? I think yes.

This country was established in a time when one militarily strong country could dominate those less developed. Sometimes we stole their natural resources and justified it by saying we would help them become civilized.

America had flaws: such as allowing slavery and committing virtual genocide on native Americans. However, because of our Judeo-Christian ethics, our commitment to democracy, the constitution and the bill of rights, and the brilliance of the balance of powers set up early on in our nation’s creation, we were able to change. We addressed slavery and stopped inequality based on race, religion, sex and sexual orientation. We evolved into a more compassionate nation.

Currently there is a severe current of hatred rearing its ugly head. We know in our hearts that this comes from an evil source and is sinful. We must pray for peaceful resolutions to our nation’s problems and for all our leaders to make wise choices.

As Christians we have a responsibility to ponder our decisions with what Christ would have us do and to proceed accordingly. As Americans we are generally richer materially than most everyone in the world. We should be more willing to share our resources as needed. Also our skills and/or talents should be shared if possible.

Since we have been blessed to be born here in America, let’s offer our lives up to God every morning we awake, and try to serve Christ always.

Remember, God loves us unconditionally.
