What’s in a name?

I’ve belonged to several churches in my lifetime. I was baptized, confirmed and married in Ascension Lutheran Church. I raised my sons at Elm Grove Lutheran Church. Then I belonged to Calvary Lutheran and Church of the Resurrection. All were wonderful churches and important contributors to my Christian journey.

Of all those churches, none was as well named as “JOY.”

Just saying the name “JOY” puts half a smile on my face. (I know you’re trying it right now.)

Just saying the name “JOY” fills my heart with warmth. It’s uplifting. It’s inspiring.

In one word, “JOY,” manages to sum up all that I believe in – that my Lord and Savior died for me, for the forgiveness of my sins, so that I may have eternal life.
And isn’t that “JOY-ful?

I’m so privileged to say that I belong to the church called “JOY.”

Remember, God loves YOU unconditionally.
