I received a catalog in the mail yesterday. (Where do they get my name for so much junk mail?!) The catalog was filled with “Fun & Faith Sunday School Edition” trinkets, just begging to be ordered.
Let me share a few with you . . .
Superman capes that say “Believe”
“Fantastic Faith” tattoos
“Smile, Jesus Loves You” friendship bracelets
“Jesus is the light of the World” flashlights
“I am a child of God” headbands
And my personal favorite, “Shout to the Lord” megaphones!
Now as a former 2nd grade teacher, I’m all about teaching tools. But do we really need “gimmicks” to remind us of our God?
What about our technicolor Florida sunsets?
What about the stars in the sky?
What about the birth of a baby?
What about our lives?
Wait a minute . . . I need to grab that megaphone . . . “Shout to the Lord!”
Read 2 Peter 1:12-15 and remember, God loves you unconditionally.

“So I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth you now have. I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of this body, because I know that I will soon put it aside, as our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me. And I will make every effort to see that after my departure you will always remember these things.” 2 Peter 1:12-15
