In its natural state, peanut butter has to be stirred thoroughly. Its oil needs to be mixed before it can be spread and used for a sandwich. After buying this to have the “best” tasting p b & j sandwiches, I realized that it just wasn’t worth the hassle of extra costs and all the mixing. Regular processed peanut butter did the job and nobody suffered any health consequences that I could see.

God, on the other hand, sees us fallen sinful creatures; and even though we definitely are not worth the effort by human standards, He offers us a process that takes away our sin. We’re forgiven. We could say our loving Lord thinks that we are worth the “hassle”.

Thinking further about this I realized that men and women in their natural states need an intervention of sorts. In our natural state we’re sinful. We need to be processed by Gods Holy Spirit into productive human beings that can serve for the good of all humankind. So by confessing that we are sinful and asking Jesus to be our Lord and Savior we allow God to process us into useful servants spreading His message of love, forgiveness and salvation by grace! AMEN?
