Another Day!

Wow! I woke up this morning and it was another day. Maybe not the typical bright, sunny Florida day that we usually have, but none the less, another day. I am in awe!
Can you imagine the sensations of awe that early man and woman felt when they woke in the morning and experienced another day? As the developing human race moved from instinctual to rational behavior and thinking, the phenomenon of day and night must have been so fascinating and terrifying at the same time.

This is my personal belief that at this same time, man’s longing for a relationship with the divine began to develop. That “God-shaped” hole which philosopher/mathematician Blaise Paschal describes in his 15th century book Pensées can only be filled by God; by a trusting, loving and faithful God. This is our God!

God demonstrated His faith and love to early man in ways that were at times confusing and scary. However, His faithfulness has survived the test of time. I keep remembering a little quote that I ran into this summer “Faith makes all things possible, not easy.”  It reminds me that things don’t always go the way that I want them to go. I am not in charge of the outcomes, and there is a plan that I don’t know about. And, I have a “God-shaped” hole that is being filled by a trusted, loved and faithful God.

That very same God loves you unconditionally! Enjoy your day!

Jeremiah 29:11-13   “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
