What a great day this is! Thank you God! Sunday morning, the sabbath, and Christmas Eve day, Wow! A day of worship and preparation and anticipation all in one.
As I think about today and what this “Christmas Eve” day means I have so many different memories and thoughts going through my mind. During my childhood, as I remember it, Christmas Eve was a happy time with family together, plenty of good food, love and happiness. As a father raising three daughters, Christmas Eve was a happy time with family together, plenty of good food, love and happiness, plus three squealing children who were oh so happy to receive gifts.
Wikipedia says: “Christmas Eve” is the evening or entire day before Christmas day. (The festival commemorating the birth of Jesus of Nazareth.) Christmas day is observed around the world and Christmas Eve is widely observed as a full or partial holiday in anticipation of Christmas day. Together both days are considered one of the most culturally significant celebrations in Christiandom and Western society. Why? Because our Lord and Savior was born on this day.
Read Luke 2:1-20 The Shepards and the Angels. “And there were Shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them and they were terrified. But the Angel said to them, Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David, a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.”
He is the Son of God, Savior of the world, the one who brings light to darkness. The one who gives hope to those in need. THANK YOU GOD, FOR THE GREATEST GIFT OF ALL!
REMEMBER, HE LOVES YOU UNCONDITIONALLY.
