We make a big deal over the beginning of a new year. We resolve to change our ways, as if this is the best and only time to take such actions. However, each day, each hour, each minute, each second is an opportunity to begin anew.

It doesn’t matter how many times we begin again and fail. Our loving God wants us to know that He is with us always. He understands that we will make mistakes; we will act badly. And, we can start again – over and over again, until we make that final transition.
His gift of redemption is freely given. He is overjoyed when we accept this gift. One function of our Stephen Ministers is to bring this message of unlimited forgiveness to their care receivers. We will begin a new training program in two weeks. I am making a special request for prayers for the three women who have decided to commit to this ministry. In addition, please pray that the Holy Spirit will inspire a few men in our congregation to join, as well.

The caring relationship is gender specific. At the current time, we have only one male Stephen Minister. This means that we are unable to provide this grace-filled ministry to other men in need of care. We are committed to following God’s will in this ministry, but it never hurts to ask.

Our God has limitless love and forgiveness for His children. Don’t wait a whole year to begin again. Do it immediately. Each day is a new beginning!
