Color Guard, Defense of Your Cause

When I was a volunteer firefighter, occasionally I was asked to be part of the color guard at parades and ceremonies. I did it gladly, knowing that those flags represented all those who had died to keep our country free and those who died fighting fires to save lives.

During past wars, our country’s flag was safeguarded by brave men who cherished what it represents. During our Civil War literally thousands died holding the flag and most men who saw it fall would pick it up, even knowing they would then be the enemy’s main target.

As Christians we too must pick up our flag of grace and forgiveness, represented by our Christian banners and crosses. When one of us fails in defending the gospel, the next Christian must take over, knowing we are all the target of the enemy Satan. His aim is to destroy our freedom in Christ and to spread his hatred and evil throughout our ranks. Remember as soldiers for Christ, we can do all things through Him that strengthens us.

So no matter what the obstacle, be brave. Defend our beliefs as did our ancestors. They never hesitated to pick up their colors even in the face of certain death. AMEN?

Remember God loves us unconditionally. Yes, he loves YOU unconditionally.

Love the verse you closed with….and also the subject you expressed. We DO need to be ready to pick up where other Christians leave off….great point! Thanks, Joey
