Yesterday I saw a rainbow
Now I’ve seen hundreds, maybe thousands of rainbows in my lifetime. There are poems about rainbows, Judy Garland sang about rainbows, there is rainbow art, there are colors of the rainbow . . .
What I have to say about rainbows couldn’t possibly be new, except that it is . . .
Every single time I see a rainbow, I hear a different message from God. It’s always soul-touching. It’s always relevant to my life at the moment. It may make me smile more widely, or make me feel a lump in my throat. It may make me reach for a hand that’s near me or just take a deep breath of praise and glory.
Just like when I say the Lord’s Prayer before I go to sleep, or recite The Apostle’s Creed with you in church on Sundays, or read the Bible. My all-knowing, ever-present, up-to-the-minute God has a new message. He shares a new interpretation, freshens my faith and my dependence on Him for direction in my ever-changing world.
And yes, God loves us unconditionally.

“All around him was a glowing halo, like a rainbow shining in the clouds on a rainy day. This is what the glory of the Lord looked like to me.” – Ezekial 1:28
Read: Genesis 9:13-16
I do love the mystery and majesty of a rainbow. God’s messages throughout the world.
