From our first day of school as a child, we wanted to belong. We looked to our peers; instinctively we followed along with what the group accepted. Sometimes we behaved badly to belong, even though inside we knew what was right and wrong.
When I was a teenager, I fell into this trap. I started smoking to be cool; I stopped going to church for a while; I drove wildly; I gossiped about those that were different. As time marched on, teen years turned into young 20s, and only by the grace of God did I gradually change.
As Christians we learn that the ways of God and the ways of man are far apart. Satan loves to use what millennials today call FOMO or “A Fear of Missing Out”. Satan influences us to make wrong choices – we don’t want to miss out, we don’t want to be left out. But, our choices have serious consequences.
Remember Satan is the father of all lies. He wants us to join his rebellion against God. He wants us to deny our redemption. So when we’re tempted, let’s remember our precious place in the Lord’s family. “Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” Amen?
Remember God loves you unconditionally!

2 Corinthians 1:21-22 “Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.”
