By the time I reach for a “User Manual,” I’m usually frustrated beyond belief. Not known for my patience, my eyes are usually glazed over, my breathing erratic, and my brow full of sweat.

It doesn’t matter what the problem is. I could be frustrated with my computer. I could be trying to assemble something. (Beware!) I could be trying to get the most volume in my hair from a new hair dryer. . .

And this leads me recommend the only User Manual that is forever failsafe, that is written exactly for you and me, that I can assure you always has answers. It doesn’t refer me to an 800 number that tells me that they “value my business” while I’m placed on hold.

I’ve sometimes thought of this user guide as “Life for Dummies.” It’s also “Forgiveness for Dummies,” “Inspiration for Dummies,” “Healing for Dummies,” “Love Everlasting for Dummies” . . .

You get the idea.

Its pages are written in history. Its ink is the blood of Our Savior who died to forgive my sins. Its instructions have stood the test of time: The Ten Commandments. It’s so well-read that it’s quoted by millions: The Apostles Creed. It’s presentation so simple that it cannot be forgotten: The Lord’s Prayer.

It’s officially known as The Bible.

For centuries it has been on the best seller’s list, highly recommended by Our Father, The Apostles, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. . . You get the idea.
