“Death has died; love has won.” These words from a beautiful song performed by Niah and Alisha Merrill at a concert this evening at Joy, had my heart singing right along with these marvelous and talented performers. What a gift their music was to us tonight.
Each piece was a special prayer to the glory of God. There were songs of praise; songs of thanksgiving; songs of petition. Niah and Alisha’s sincerity and devotion to our Lord could not help but move even the coldest heart toward the love of God for His children.
As they were performing, I felt the swell of hope fill me for the future. They are brave and excited to be doing the Father’s work together as husband and wife. They are also incredibly blessed with beautiful voices and unflappable stage presence. I could see the Hand of God in their lives.
As for the audience, their enjoyment was obvious from the start. Even though it is Lent, God wants His children to experience enjoyment. Fun! This was fun, as well as, inspirational and motivational.
Thank you, Dear Lord, for this wonderful gift. Your mercy and love fill us each day. We are moved, once again, to shout out “God loves you unconditionally!” Read Psalm 149 and rejoice in your Maker!
