Gone Fishing

I kind of like the idea of sitting in a boat on a warm summer’s day, bobbing gently in the water,
waiting for the fish to bite.

I don’t have a problem with fishing . . .

I have a problem with ooey, gooey, stinky, slimy, crawly worms!

I just can’t get myself to reach into the bait bucket and put one on the hook.

“And Jesus said, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.” – Mark 1:17

Lord Jesus, I’ll follow you, but I’ll need help.

I’ll need the guidance of your Holy Spirit. I’ll need the loving hands of my brothers and sisters in Christ.

I’ll need to get over my squeamishness and boldly speak of my faith.

With your help, I’ll cast a lifeline to your grace and your peace.

For You love us unconditionally.
