Running on Empty . . .

I hate pumping gas.

I long for the days of driving into a gas station, rolling down my window, and saying “Fill ‘er up!”

It was so much more comfortable to sit in my warm car and let the uniformed station attendant in his overalls do all the work. I’d hear the sound of the gas flowing into the tank and know I’d be good to go.

Heavenly Father, I’m not good at this self-service thing.

On my own, I’m stubborn, blaming, self-centered, empty . . .

I need to remember to pause with you and say
“Fill ‘er up.”

My tank runs dry without you.

Fill me with your peace and your love; the peace and love which only You can give – for You love us unconditionally.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” – Romans 15:13
