I grew up hearing the saying that “April showers bring May flowers.” And, if you lived up north, that was often true. Winter was finally over. Then the traditionally rainy month of April gave way to sunshine and flowers in May. We picked colorful little wildflowers on our way to school. Our teacher was blessed with endless bouquets happily presented by grubby little hands. It was May!
Personally, our lives also seem to have such seasons. There are seasons of winter – seasons of discomfort and difficulty. Our troubles weigh us down.
Then we may experience a season of spring. Perhaps we see the light at the end of the tunnel. Things are looking up. We just have the feeling that there may be better days ahead.
And then — a time like May. Flowers of happiness come to us again. We grab onto the joy with our grubby little hands. We appreciate moments of relief and peace.
But the seasons cycle onward each year. Spring will lead to the heat of summer, the glories of autumn, and then (except in Florida) winter descends yet again.
Our “personal seasons” do the same. We know that both joys and sorrows will come to us in the days ahead. Whatever the season, we know that You Lord are beside us. You share our joy and You stand by us in times of distress.
Yes, You love us unconditionally.

“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” Ecclesiasstes 3:1
Well. It took me a while but I finally read it! Very nice.
