Hide and Seek

“When You said, “Seek My face,
My heart said to You, Your face, Lord, I will seek.” Psalm 27:8

In the early morning, Jesus called me and said, “Tag! You’re It!”

And I made it my mission to look for HIS face throughout my day. As I got into the driver’s seat, the angel on my car visor reminded me that the “Hide and Seek” countdown had begun. . .

I see you, Lord.

Waiting at a stoplight, the car in front of me was from the Marion County Sheriff’s Dept. On its bumper the words, “In God We Trust . . .”

I see you, Lord.

Traveling down country roads, I don’t believe I’ve ever noticed so many churches. The sign on one of them said, “God opened two gifts for you this morning. Your eyes.”

I see you, Lord.

I sneezed while eating breakfast. A complete stranger said, “God bless you. . .”

I see you, Lord.

Browsing at a gift shop, I’m drawn to a display of jewelry. They were beautiful crosses. . .

I see you, Lord.

Lovingly, God had called me in the morning, like a father to his child, to “play” with HIM, to keep HIM in my mind throughout the day, to “Seek HIS face.”

I like this game.

With your help, Holy Spirit, I’ll get better at it every day.
