“My Dad Can Do Anything!”

As a toddler and then a young child, many of us thought our fathers knew everything and could do anything. We might even boast to our friends that our dad was better than theirs!

Then year by year that childlike adoration and faith became somewhat muted. We realized that Dad didn’t always live up to our expectations. He may have let us down at times. Our faith in dad was sometimes disappointed, but we loved him anyway. Eventually we realized that we too had flaws; no one human is perfect.

On the other hand that same Dad may have taught you about your Heavenly Father. Mine did. He instilled in me an unshakable faith in my heavenly Father and His Son Jesus.

Dad encouraged us to go to church. He knew we needed to listen and learn, so he brought us to church regularly. Despite any of his own faults or weaknesses, my earthly dad pointed the way to my heavenly Father.

I learned that the heavenly Father provided His own dearly loved Son, Jesus, as a sacrifice to pay for our sin. I learned that I could ask Him for forgiveness and trust that His unconditional love would indeed wash away all my mistakes. Thanks Dad for leading me in this direction.

For I know that my Abba Father in heaven is infallible. He can indeed to anything!! He loves me and He loves YOU unconditionally.
