Goodness he/she sure did provoke me! Ok, let’s be honest, I’m mad!
Now the Proverbial, “Well, we are all human.” Yes, we are and our emotions, though we want them to remain tranquil and just and kind, don’t always feel that way. Sometimes the reality is we are steaming.
What is your first reaction? Tossing that middle finger in the air? ( I hope not.) Spewing a curse word or two? Glaring? Stomping away? Fuming?
Do you want to know what is even better? Pray. Pray for His peace and forgiveness to enter. Pray for the person who offended or provoked you. Though your hands may be clenched or your heart pounding or a headache starting to secure a place in your skull, you will be amazed at prayer’s power. His peace passes all HUMAN understanding. It can completely coat you. It can pour over you like a calming balm. It can heal your hurt. The prayer for PEACE is God’s presence turning anger and/or hurt into comfortable assurance of His love. Isn’t that spectacular?
Our loving Lord cares so much he will turn our anger into peace, our hurt into comfort and all He asks is for us to be in touch. How easy it is to speed dial a family member on our cell phones? A simple click of a few keys and an email or text is sent through cyber-land. Faster yet? An honest prayer directed to our heavenly Father and He unconditionally loves you enough to respond with His peace. Yes, you are human, but Oh Yay, you are His!
