Fear

Bogeymen under the bed,
Things that go bump in the night,
Freddy Krueger on Elm Street . . .
Things that send you running to the arms of mama and daddy.

Fear of a health diagnosis,
Fear of living alone,
Fear of failure,
Fear of a future world for our grandchildren . . .
Things that send you running to the arms of the Lord in prayer.

Just as our parents soothed our shivers in times of distress, we know God is there for us.
We know He was there for our ancestors in the Bible; for Jonah in the whale’s belly, for Daniel against the lion.
We know He will be there for our fears.
All we have to do is ask . . .

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9

He loves us unconditionally.
