Wishes

It rolls off the tongue so easily, “Merry Christmas!”
Or must I be politically correct and say, “Happy Holidays!?”
Not this year . . .

This year, my wish for you and for me is so much deeper . . .
Is it my age? Is it the experiences of my year?
Is it the accumulation and the awareness of the God-moments in my life?

This year, I wish you a Sacred Christmas . . .
“Sacred” as in the definition, “set apart.”
“Sacred” as in the definition, “dedicated for the service or worship of God.”

Today, as I begin opening the doors of the Advent Calendar in my heart,
Let me “set apart” time for HIM.
Let me “set apart” service for HIM.
Let me “set apart” worship for HIM.

After all, it’s HIS name that rolls off my tongue when I say “Merry Christmas!”
You’ll know what I mean . . .
