Flying high above the clouds, the intercom pings and I hear the pilot’s voice,
“Ladies and gentlemen, we’ll be feeling the effects of the Gulf Stream in our flight today. The good news is, we’ll be arriving sooner than expected. The bad news is that we’ll meet some turbulence for a while. Fasten your seatbelts for a bumpy ride.”
I groaned.
My seatmate sighed.
The woman on the other side of me gripped the arms of the seat with white knuckles.
A little boy exclaimed, “Yay! This is going to be great!”
I guess it’s just a matter of perspectives . . .
Do I look at clouds as a dreary, depressing day, or do I welcome the relief of life-giving rain?
Are the trivial disappointments in my life reason to get upset or can I laugh about the crazy circumstances?
Can I see that the difficulties can be opportunities for God to touch me and teach me?
Perspectives . . .
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” – James 1:2-4
Remember, He loves you unconditionally.
