Through the years, my cravings have changed.
As a child: more toys
As a teenager: more sleep
As a young adult: more chocolate
As a young professional: more money
As a new mother: more sleep
As a parent: peace and quiet
As a middle-ager: more time with my grandchildren
As an “older” woman: still more chocolate
Through the years, I’ve prayed; “Give us this day, our daily bread.”
And you have answered me. You have heard my prayers. You have provided for my every need.
You have satisfied my cravings.
Today: I crave more of your teaching.
I crave a greater heart of gratitude.
I crave a closer relationship with YOU.
I know you will fill me up.
“You satisfy the hungry heart
With gifts of finest wheat.
Come give to us, O Saving Lord
The Bread of Life to Eat.” – Lyrics by John Michael Talbot
