Wow! Did You See That?

I try to travel in my imagination putting myself on the hillside, gathered together with many of Jesus’ followers. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John describe the feeding that we know as the loaves and fishes. After the blessing of the food that was there, the basket of loaves and fish seemed endless. It is written the estimate was about 5,000 people, who were fed.

During the holidays when I am cooking for my family, I am delighted when there a few leftovers as they are enjoyable too. Like the holiday meal revisited!

It is so hard to fathom, all of those folks being fed AND having plenty of leftovers. Miracle? Of course, it is one of Jesus’ miracles and amazing to read about.

So these throngs of followers were “super-sized” (in the vernacular of our fast food items of today), because not only were they fed with his teachings, witnessed healing and learned lessons for life, but they witnessed a miracle that fed them food, too.

What were the discussions like on the way back to their homes? Did you see that? How did He do that? If this is the Son of God, did you pay attention to what He was saying? Is He who we have been waiting for to come?

Do you, today, listen for His word? Do you study His teachings? Do you grasp God’s lessons when your pastor speaks? Have you seen miracles in your own life? Allow His unconditional love for you to be your “proof” of being fed and having leftovers. God’s Holy Word, His love are more than enough to bless you with plenty of His strength, wisdom, power, and to have His total omnipotence “leftover” for you to praise Him with Thanksgiving all of your days.
