Boo! Bet I scared you!

Have you pictured the Garden of Eden and what transpired there? Did God’s voice boom from the clouds?

When the prophets heard God speak was it within their mind, or was it audible and ground shaking?

I’ve stumbled and had my share of troubles where I have pleaded for God to just sky-write His directions or answers to me because I clearly wasn’t “hearing” a booming voice.

Job 12:12 states, “Wisdom may be found in the company of the aged. Understanding comes with longevity.”

Age can do wonderful things for us, as teens say, “How did my parents get so stupid?” As teens grow into young adults, the verbiage changes to, “When did my parents get so smart?”

I believe wisdom did come with my advancing age.

Earlier in my life, getting on my knees and entreating God to hear my pleas and envelope me with His love and understanding seemed like a last resort many times. I knew Jesus. I believed my faith was strong, but I worried first, fretted for a while, planned, revamped my plan and then met with God in prayer. Oh, silly me!

With age came the wisdom of knowing God NEVER leaves me; He is always available for me; He loves me unconditionally and He does have the answers.

I still have not heard a booming voice that frightened me with its power, but I have seen a rose petal begin to unfold its beauty. I have heard the wind as it lifted a seagull across waves. I have witnessed the birth of my two children and my granddaughter. I have felt the Spirit within stirring my thoughts or calming my inner being. All of those messages came through loud and clear just as if they had been written across the skies. I am loved. I am a child of our Most High God. My name is written in the palm of His hand.

Hearing the voice of God is awe-filled awesomeness! Listen for it.
