Christmas in July

I’m a sucker for a good Hallmark movie.

I’m not embarrassed to tell you that I’m almost always moved to tears, even though I know that the plot of every one of them is pretty much the same. Handsome boy meets beautiful girl. Girl is shy, boy is helpful. They overcome a problem together and they live happily ever after. Sigh . . .

This is the month of July. Do you know what that means on the Hallmark Channel?
Christmas in July!!!

Those glorious tear-jerking Hallmark movies have snow and Christmas trees, and beautifully wrapped presents and Christmas carols and . . .

Even in the sweltering heat of summer, I am reminded of the birth of Our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Six months after I have packed away the wonder of the Christmas Story, I can take a moment to wipe away new tears of joy and awe.

Sigh . . .

Christmas in July!!!
