PEMDAS

In my math classes, I used to teach PEMDAS, the order of operations for math (parentheses first, then any exponents, multiply and divided using those operations left to right, lastly add and subtract, again using those operations left to right). To help the students remember the order there was a hint for the acronym PEMDAS: Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally.

It is an “ordered” universe, created by a powerful God. I am awed by His majesty and the majestic world He has manifested.

With systems and order and the world wide web of connectivity, I am so pleased to know, I can keep my communication with God quite simple. BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD. The ability to listen to His spirit within me, the quietness of feeling His peace, the tingle of feeling His presence about me, is powerful!

Kneeling to pray is optional.

Verbalizing a formal prayer with a salutation, middle and ending is optional. Speaking aloud? Optional.

Singing prayerfully? Optional.

All forms of prayer are welcome, but somehow knowing I can be still and KNOW Him, I then feel prayer-filled. No specific order is necessary to communicate your heart’s thank you. No exact rules to follow for your requests of Him.

Jesus tells us to pray in secret, because God in secret knows all things and will reward us.

I loved teaching mathematical order of operations, systems of equations, steps to solutions, but believing my communication with our heavenly Father can be simple and step-free is a peace-filled, stumble-free, joy.

God loves us unconditionally, no hoop-jumping necessary for Him to hear you. Keep it simple, be still and know Him. Thank Him for His gift of always being present and knowing all things.
