In 1895, the x-ray technique was accidentally discovered. In over a hundred years, the medical technology of seeing inside your body, your head, your bones, your organs has become quite beneficial to the medical community. Physicians seem quite eager to assign one or all of these “tests” to you to better help them diagnose your problem.
I’m not part of the medical community and for myself, none too eager to be the “patient,” so I must say this is where Psalm 139 warms my heart. It is my most favorite psalm, bringing me much solace. Verses 1-16 of Psalm 139 describe God as knowing us from our mother’s womb, of knowing when we stand and when we sit, of knowing the words on our tongue before they are spoken, He loves us unconditionally, inside and out. What a magnificent reminder of His omnipotence and our importance to Him! He cares enough to know each of His children completely! Hallelujah!
Yes, the world of science and medical discoveries are amazing and improving and changing, but I actually find our Heavenly Father as rather amazing, too. He has counted the hairs on my head. He knows exactly how I am “wired,” and loves me. What an amazing gift to know I am known so completely, so thoroughly, and I’m so wonderfully loved.
