Eagles are awesome birds. I’ve considered myself fortunate whenever I had the opportunity to watch them spread their wings and soar.
I was fascinated by this little tidbit of nature. It seems that when mother eagle is ready for her young to leave the nest, the little eagle may climb onto mother’s back. He holds on securely as mother soars. Then without warning, she dives out from under him. He screams and falls, stretching his little wings trying to catch the air. He’s out of the nest and he’s afraid. Just when it seems that all his hope is gone, she swoops under him and carries him on her wings once more.
This got me thinking about how God uses new experiences in our lives to boost us onward. Sometimes the place we find so comfortable begins to seem too tight. There must be more. So we step out of our comfort zone and take that leap of faith. Are we doing the right thing? Our anxiety builds. Is God with us? And yes, of course He is, as He swoops under us and carries us securely in His arms. Perhaps it was our loving Father after all, who was spurring us on to this new step on our spiritual journey.
Isaiah 40:31 “But they that hope in the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall take wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”
