I’m in Vermont right now. Once again, I am packing to go back to Florida. What a seasonal change that will be! The temperature here this morning was 38 degrees and in Florida – 89. I have to admit that while I love the cooler temperatures, I no longer look forward to the cold and snow of a Vermont winter.
Although I haven’t been here all summer, I am experiencing the same frantic rush to get ready to leave as if I had been. I try to concentrate my efforts on one task at a time. This variation on the “one day at a time” philosophy works for me. I ask for guidance from a loving God, who I am sure looks down on me and says, “Theresa, really? Again?” However, there is no seasonal change for God! He goes right ahead and sends the grace and direction that I need to complete my goal.
This is my practice of faith. I recently saw a poster at church which read “Faith makes all things possible, not easy”. Isn’t that true? The day to day practice of faith is critical to the development of a working relationship with God.
A loving relationship with God is critical to my ability to live my life one day at a time. They are so connected that they cannot be separated! Thank you, Dear Lord, for this insight into my relationship with you. Thank you for the daily grace that you bestow freely on me and all your people.
Read Psalm 73: 23-26 and remember that God loves you unconditionally!
