Rays are Heaven Sent

My father’s name was Ray, and I know he was heaven sent for my life; however, I am speaking of the sun’s rays.

One of my favorite skies to gaze at, is a slightly gray, cloudy, sky that has pockets of openings where the sun’s rays pour through in streams. The rays are bright and seem to touch from heaven to earth. Is heaven “up?” Not sure of its location, but Jesus did ascend into heaven, so from my perspective “up” applies to my sky-vision of these brilliant streams.

On my walks, when one of these skies appears before me, I immediately think my loved ones are peering over the gloomy clouds and through the bright light to me. Silly? Childlike? Perhaps it is both of those adjectives, but the comfort I am rewarded with makes me smile from my heart to my face.

God loves us unconditionally and will even supply a vision of comfort and cheer, if we but open our hearts and eyes to Him.
