Did you ever search for a hidden treasure? May be it was a treasure hunt, a scavenger hunt or an Easter egg hunt. Maybe you had lost a precious or sentimental piece of jewelry.

You were focused. Nothing could interfere with your continued hunting.

Reading a devotional today I found the quote, “Search for joy as a hidden treasure.” I was intrigued.

Then I thought about those days when the strain of the journey is hard. Gloom and frustration surround us. We feel the pain, hope seems so far away. In those moments is joy hidden from us?

Even then our Lord Jesus wants us to know the joy of His presence. Jesus is calling. Talk to me he says. I understand exactly how you feel. Talk to me until you feel the load lighten on your shoulders.

When joy is a hidden treasure, don’t stop searching. God’s unconditional love is always there.
