…And This Is/Was for Me and You and You and You…

Fall andWinter, Thanksgiving, Advent, Christmas and New Year ahead, this can certainly tend to be a busy time of the year for so many of us. What do your days look like? Are you someone who packs their calendar full of retirees’ activities? Are you working and your 9-5 sometimes feels like, or actually is, 8-7? Are you a student who knows finals are looming ahead and studying is a must?

As busy as weare with our own issues, families, jobs and activities, do you spend any time thinking about the gifts you have already received? Can you see (even if your sight is compromised, do you have some vision)? Are you breathing? Can you walk (even if mobility is astruggle) are you able to get around? These are certainly gifts from God and we generally remember to thank our Lord for these gifts. But, have you thought about Christ’s death on the cross? He was there, suffering and dying and his real burden was holding all our sins. (Maybe reread that  last sentence. ) Jesus was not sacrificed for HIS sins, this was not something HE did, NO, this was our dear Lord being sacrificed for OUR sins. The ultimate gift, God’s unconditional love for us; He gave His Son to die for us.

As you prepare for the busiest of seasons, wrap your arms around yourself and thank God for the gift of His Son. Your sins are forgiven. By His stripes you are healed and to God be the glory.
